Mission Statement

The Student Excellence and Resources mission is to empower students to excel academically and achieve personal goals that promote academic success, retention and timely graduation through a holistic student-centered approach.

Our Services

We support students facing academic, financial, or personal challenges through collaboration with their professors and advisors. Additionally, we connect them to various resources across campus and within the community. Our support services are free of charge.

• Establish clear objectives to achieve personal success
• Develop practical measures that incorporate available resources to aid the student
• Encourage ongoing dialogue regarding the student's advancement

Student Resources

Student Success Coordinator appointments are offered both in person and online. Students may email SON-StudentExcellence@umc.edu to schedule a meeting with a coordinator.
